Can Creo 3.0 student edition be installed in my computer?

$

Sorry for my poor english

The quick installation guide says students can download and install creo 2.0 from  www.ptc.com/appserver/auth/it/esd/academicFree.jsp

but when I open the link, I saw the creo 3.0 download manager.

Now the question is if I can choose the creo 3.0 download manager instead of the creo 2.0 download manager, and use the product code in the installation guide to active the creo 3.0 student editon.

Hi, I tried to launch Creo Parametric 2.0 student version after i downloaded, but i encountered a fatal error.

The system says: "Fatal error encountered. A traceback has been written to C:\Users\Public\Decouments\traceback.log Please send it to Technical Support."
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Thanks

I completely installed Creo but I do not know where to access it or open it?

I have installed Creo 3.0 for university students for the free 30 days. The PTC Creo parametric, PTC creos imulate 3..., and PTC Creo options show on my wallpaper but when I click them, it says "missing shortcut," and "windows is searching for parametric.exe..."

Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to open it? I have Windows 8. I believe I installed it correctly. (I used license code and it said "success" and then "finish".)

Thank you in advance!!!

Creo 3 installation issues

I am trying to load Creo 3 on computer for FTC team.  M010 installed but with just the basics - no Diagram, NC stuff, etc.  Another member downloaded and has the full suite.  A third has the "reduced" capability as I have gotten.  The license files are much larger 17K vs. 7K.  Creo 2 was previously loaded, since uninstalled.

A couple of uninstall and reinstall had the same ending.  Now I get an ERROR message when trying to install M010.

M010 was uninstalled, M020 downloaded and attempted to install.  At the license step, I get the rotating blue circle and a "Not Responding" message.

Any idea what is going on?  The team wants to learn Diagram and Harnessing but can't if licenses aren't there.

PTC installation assistant error

Hi,

I have purchased an academic copy of Creo 2 online and downloaded the installer and ran it as an administrator.
the installer starts taking me through the steps to completion and recognizes my supplied licence for the product, however when it comes to the “Applications” section it crashes and the error message “PTC installation assistant has stopped working” is produced. Please find attached a screenshot of this message.

I have browsed the forum and this seems to be a fairly common issue but no simple answer seems to have been given on there. At first I assumed that it must be my schools edition of Creo/Elements Pro needing uninstalling in order to complete the process, so I uninstalled that but it made no difference. I have tried downloading another copy of the installer but this also does not work.

is there something that I am missing or is there a bug in the installer that I have?

Kind Regards,

Creo 1.0 License Utility - UNAVAILABLE (and other questions)

Edit: The URL for the License Utility worked! ..temporarily. I got the utility downloaded, which solved my issue. But now when I got back, it gives me a 404 again. It seems that when I manually type it in, it works, but when I click a link or copy / paste it, it gives me a 404?? Really weird. I attached a screenshot of it in 404 mode.

I also got what a google search reveals is a common issue, of the "Quality Agent" not being able to do whatever it needs to do. Right clicking creo and running as administrator solved the issue, as it allowed creo to do whatever it needs to do with the Quality Agent when I clicked "yes" to tell it to go ahead and do... whatever.

Hello, I was trying to get Creo 1.0 working on my computer, following the instructions here: http://support.ptc.com/appserver/wcms/standards/freefull_cs.jsp?&im_dbkey=151798&icg_dbkey=896

That page directs me to install the "Creo 1.0 License Utility" located at http://free-dl.ptc.com/install/Setup.exe That website gives me a 404 error. Which means that although Creo has been installed, I can't get the license file, because the program to use to get said file is nonexistent on PTC's website. I did find a zipped version of the program on another discussion here, but haven't tried it yet, since some other posters indicated it had issues (http://communities.ptc.com/thread/37018).

I did find different instructions here (http://apps.ptc.com/schools/references/install_creo1_student.pdf) that direct me to a website that should allow me to get a license file emailed to me (this site: http://www.ptc.com/go/license4creoschools). I put in my info, and should get a license emailed soon. However, that site says it is for "Creo Elements/Pro 5.0 Schools Edition Licensing" and not Creo 1.0 - will that license file still work, or should I try the zipped License Utility?

Additionally, when I bought my Creo textbook, it had a paper that directed me to ptc.com/go/sdcpublications/student . Despite buying my textbook at the start of this semester, the error message at that page says: "The Web Page, Download PTC Creo Student Edition for College or University, was retired on August 29, 2014." This of course led to the VERY frustrating journey that has Creo on my machine, but no license.

That same piece of paper has a product code, similar to the generic BK380201EDSCHOOLSEDITN on the various instructions linked above. Since it is apparently unique to me, is it still valid? Or will PTC have discontinued it, along with the website that paper directs me to?

Trouble checking in files to Windchill

We have been using Windchill 10.2 for a while now along with Creo 2.0.  Creo file management has been working fine.

Today we no longer seem to be able to upload parts.  When I try I get "Upload failed" and "See the Event Management console for details".  When I go to the console it is blank and provides no additional information.

We have one member who just started using Windchill and is using Creo 3.0 (we were going to all upgrade, just didn't do it yet).  She tried to upload a part and got the same thing but got the following in the event console:

Transaction aborted when accessing versioned row in table 'first.QueueEntry' in database 'first'. Requested versioned row was not found. Your tempdb is probably out of space. Please refer to BOL on how to configure-  tempdb for versioning.

Any thoughts on how to get us back up and running?  Everything was working very well up until today...

Simple License Entry Greyed out / License Failed

$

0

Problem Outline:

These two problems are characterized by the user being unable to succesfully input their product code into "Simple License Entry" box.  It can appear as one of two possible errors...

  1. The "Simple License Entry" field is greyed out and the user cannot input text in the box.  A screenshot of this error is shown below.
    GreyedOutPRoductCode.PNG
  2. After inputting the product code and clicking "Install Licensing" the user receives a red "License Failed!" error message.

Solution:

Both of these errors are caused because something is interferring with your ability to contact our licensing servers.  This could be because of an anti-virus, admin permissions, firewall, or network issue. The guide linked below will walk you through the process of generating a license file manually and installing PTC Creo 2.0 without using the "Simple License Entry".

License Request Failed for Feature

$

Problem Outline:

This problem is characterized by an error message that appears right after PTC Creo 2.0 launches.  The error appears in a Creo window named "Warning: Message List" and typically has a large amount of text below the "License request failed for feature" which appears at the top.  A screenshot of the message is shown below.

failedforfeature.png

Solution:

This error appears when Creo is unable to effectively validate your license file.  Often this happens when a license file expires, becomes corrorupt, is generated incorrectly or is deleted.  Alternatively since your Creo license is tied to the Host ID of the first priority network card on your computer your computer may be using the wrong Host ID. Often, computers have more than one network card (wireless and LAN) and if one of the cards is enabled or disabled after licensing, the first priority network card and thus Host ID will change. If this happens, Creo will open with a message that says “License request failed for feature” and if you expand the Warning Message List dialog box, you will see “Invalid host”.

If you see "Invalid Host" in the Warning Message List dialog box then try this guide...

If you do not see "Invalid Host" or the above guide was unsuccessful, then use this guide to send Academic Support your license file....

Creo 2.0 Parametric Fatal Error encountered

Hi there, I've been having a big problem trying to open creo on my laptop. I managed to install creo without a hassle, however when I try to open it, a window suddenly pops up that says:

CREO FATAL ERROR.JPG

Please help? i've tried re-installing Creo but this error still occurs.

My laptop Model: Inspiron 7520

Running on : Windows Home 7 Premium 64-bit (is it because of my operating system?)

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3612QM CPU @ 2.10GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.1GHz

Memory: 6144MB (6GB) RAM

If it's my operating system, do you think updating it to say Windows 8, will allow me to run Creo 2.0? Will updating it affect the fact that I have a locked license?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Creo Simulate Student Edition - Port Conflict / License Error

$

Hello,

I have installed Creo 2.0 Student edition in 2013 and Parametric and simulate worked fine. After one Year the License expired and I requested a new one. I used the "reconfigure.exe" to set the new License path. In Creo Parametric everything worked fine, and i can use it without any Problems. When I start Creo Simulate the following Error occurs:

2015-03-01 09_53_41-Creo Simulate Student Edition.png

In english: "Port-conflict" "The previous restart failed. The port 51250 is also occupied. Restart Creo Parametric and all other opened PTC Applications again. We apologize for any inconvenience"

With every restart, the Port number counts up. So now I'm at Port 51256.

When I continue and open a .prt file, it loads the file. But then it shows another Error:

2015-03-01 10_56_38-PRT0001 (Aktiv) E__Users_Amon_Documents_prt0001.prt.1 - Creo Simulate Student Ed.png
In english: "License-Control" "Required Creo Simulate License can not be retrieved. Contact your distribution partner."

I can't contact any support, because i only have the Student Edition.

I use Win 8 64-Bit-Version on a Lenovo Ideapad Y-500 Notebook.

Does anybody know what could solve the Problem?

Greetings

Jan
