Can I run Mathcad or Creo on my Mac OS?

$

The anwser is Yes and No.  Currently PTC Academic software is supported only on Windows machines. However some users have found success running Creo on Mac systems in the following 2 scenarios.

  • Using virtual machine software such as Parallels to run Windows
  • Running Windows software in dual-boot mode on Mac systems with Intel-based hardware

PTC cannot make any recommendations on hardware or software for users attempting to run Creo in these environments.

unfold a sheetmetal pipe

Hello, I use afx to create tubes for a frame. Specifically I use sheetmetal pipes to have the outside diameter and thickness I want.

After I trim the tubes that intersect with each other (via profile cut out)  I would like to unfold the tube to make a dxf of the 2d sketch.

However when I open the tube "example_sm_pipe_10_fl.prt" the flat pattern fails to regenerate. What can I do to have the tube unfolded with its cut out?

Thanks!

Hello!

I am using the Creo 2.0 Student Version and have had to request a new license a few weeks ago. I did so on the website and with the new product code I was able to create a new license file. However, when starting up Creo 2.0, I am still getting an error concerning license failure.

exception_access_violation

Hi,

I have to use Creo 2.0 for university. Due to this, I downloaded and installed the student version.

While the installation process ran without any problems, Creo does not run right now.

When I try to launch Parametric, it crashes with the error "exception_access_violation".

I have already tried to install the latest graphics driver (Intel HD 4000), but that does not

solve the problem. Furthermore I tried the "enable_opengl_fbo no"-option, unfortunately

the problem is still here (Is the spelling "enable_opengl_fbo no"

correct or have I to write it otherwise?). Is there any solution for that issue?

Kind regards,

Simon Hemmerich

Creo 2 error

Hello,

I have a problem, too, starting Creo 2.

I did the installation according to the guide I got via email. When I start the program I got an error but only says it created a traceback file and I should send it to the stuff. I don't know where to send it so I think this must be a good place to show my problem to you.
Inside the traceback.log this is written:

The pro machine type is: x86e_win64

The process ID is: 5736

Problem with installing Creo on Student's laptop

Hello,

I have one of my students who installed Creo onto his laptop, a HP Pavillion dv6 running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Program apparently installed without any issue, though now every time he boots Creo the web page that opens when the program runs cannot be closed. See screen shot below.

Creo screen.jpg

Can select new and create a new part, the model tool bar opens and you can select extrude or what ever. Apparently the program is operating with the exception that the web page cannot be closed and is as a consequent hiding everything behind it.

Is there a setting we've missed? Any suggestions please?

regards

Ian

Error at the very beginning

Happy Ester to everyone,

I have a major problem. When i start drawing anything, my screen just stays white. (Not just while drawing, all the time) I can click on the symbols that are used to be on the screen. So it’s just the screen who doesn’t updates or whatever. I tried to reinstall the program but still the same mistake.

Can anyone help me? Any ideas? I added one pic of the screen.

Would be great

Greetings

Friedrich

I am an absolute beginner with CAD. I am trying to model a bolt and nut so that I can test it failing under various condidtions. I Have been following this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyMfcRl71do which is very useful, although I only have a student account. Just as I was about to get to putting the thredad on my bolt, the video at 14.53 tells me to open a file called unf_external_thread_profile. Which I dont have. Can anyone help me with this?

Also I have built the bolt so far need to convert it from inces to mm, is this possible.

Sorry to ask such basic questions, but like I say this is my very first time using CAD.

Cheers

Marcus

Creo 2.0 M110 Installs on Windows 8.1 but exe files are missing

We installed MED-100WIN-CD-390_M110_Win32-64 on a Windows 8.1 laptop ultrabook (ideapad, corei5 processor).  Installation seemed to go perfectly well and said that Parametric and Direct both installed successfully.  However, there is no exe file for either found on the computer when done.  Searching the harddrive, it seems that the files are there in:

C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 2.0\

however, there is no exe file.

We tried installing it multiple times, same result.  Please help!

Hi, I tried to launch Creo Parametric 2.0 student version after i downloaded, but i encountered a fatal error.

The system says: "Fatal error encountered. A traceback has been written to C:\Users\Public\Decouments\traceback.log Please send it to Technical Support."
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Thanks

Creo 2.0 and Intel HD 4600 graphics

I am a mentor for FRC Team 2877 - The Ligerbots, and one of my tasks is to build our Creo skill base over the summer to put us in a better position for  the next build season.

I have two nominally identical machines - Dell Optiplex 9020 with Intel graphics, running Windows 7 64 bit, purchased at the same time, identical hardware and nominally identical update history, similar software installed. I have verified that the graphics driver version is the same on both machines and that both installed Windows updates recently. We installed Creo 2.0 (M070) on one of them during build season (late January/early Feb) and the install went smoothly and everything ran fine (and continues to run well). Today I installed Creo 2.0 on the other one, and it wouldn't start up (gives a fatal error message). We had seen this before on other machines, so I created a config.pro file with the line "graphics win32_gdi". This allows it to start up as expected. Once it's running, I can set the graphics to opengl (using file->options->configuration editor), and it continues to run, and I can restore the last session and it will set the graphics to opengl and run OK, but I can't start it without the config.pro file that sets it to win32_gdi. The current version is M100.

I have three questions.

(1) Could this be a difference in the Creo builds? Can anyone suggest any other reason that the two systems would behave differently - other drivers, registry keys, etc?

(2) I see no difference in performance, but I only opened simple parts and assemblies. Is there a downside to using win32_gdi?

(3) Should I worry that Creo 3.0 won't run at all on these machines?

Thanks,

Hello!

I am using the Creo 2.0 Student Version and have had to request a new license a few weeks ago. I did so on the website and with the new product code I was able to create a new license file. However, when starting up Creo 2.0, I am still getting an error concerning license failure.

Mathcad PDSi viewable support error

Some customers are seeing the following message when installing Mathcad:

Mathcad PDSi viewable support: Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed. Setup will now terminate.

Mathcad is trying to install an Adobe driver but a more recent version of the driver is already on your computer.

You can ignore the message and continue with the installation. This has no impact on Mathcad.

RE-Install WF 5

Hello All, Don't laugh.

I have the Student Edition of WF5 and had to install a new network card. Now WF does not run. I get a pop-up window that displays the license server is UP.

The subsequent line is:

Warning: (-3) No license server system for this feature

There is a license server manager  / vendor daemon running but its for other vendors.

I re-installed WF 5 using the product code and my ID but had the same net result.

Any help would be appreciated to get this install up and runng.

Best regards,

Ricardo

Creo 2 error

Hello,

I have a problem, too, starting Creo 2.

I did the installation according to the guide I got via email. When I start the program I got an error but only says it created a traceback file and I should send it to the stuff. I don't know where to send it so I think this must be a good place to show my problem to you.
Inside the traceback.log this is written:

The pro machine type is: x86e_win64

How to convert Creo 2.0 commercial Version to Creo Parametric Education Version? is there any way to do?

I couldn't find any way, any workaround for this.

one of PTC Channel parter made Creo Simulate education training book with Commercial version.

But Many Universities want to use this training book. So we need to convert commercial version to education version.

For reference, I found this doc. but it is not my solution.

직함Creo Parametric TryOut Version and Creo 2.0 commercial Version compatibility
설명
  • Is there a way to open models created with the 30-days TryOut Version in commercial Version
  • Unable to open commercial Creo Elements Pro - Pro/ENGINEER data in Creo Parametric Trial version

해결
  • Works to specification for Creo Parametric all releases:
    • The Try Out Edition cannot read commercial files.
    • Commercial Edition cannot red Try Out Edition files.
  • For files created with the Try Out Edition, as a workaround:
    • Open the files in the educational version and save the files with license extension "Educ_com_convert (162)"
  • Else get in touch with the Sales
