Unable to see model and/or datums in model window after succesful Creo installation

After installing the PTC CREO student version on my laptop i'm unable to see the part and/or datums on the model window. The part opens correctly but nothing shows on the screen. How can i fix it? Is a installation issue?

All datums are turned on, no part is hidden. I just cant see anything, just a blank model window where a part is supposed to be showing.

Hi,

I have to use Creo 2.0 for university. Due to this, I downloaded and installed the student version.

While the installation process ran without any problems, Creo does not run right now.

When I try to launch Parametric, it crashes with the error "exception_access_violation".

I have already tried to install the latest graphics driver (Intel HD 4000), but that does not

solve the problem. Furthermore I tried the "enable_opengl_fbo no"-option, unfortunately

the problem is still here (Is the spelling "enable_opengl_fbo no"

correct or have I to write it otherwise?). Is there any solution for that issue?

Kind regards,

Simon Hemmerich

Creo 2.0 and Intel HD 4600 graphics

I am a mentor for FRC Team 2877 - The Ligerbots, and one of my tasks is to build our Creo skill base over the summer to put us in a better position for  the next build season.

I have two nominally identical machines - Dell Optiplex 9020 with Intel graphics, running Windows 7 64 bit, purchased at the same time, identical hardware and nominally identical update history, similar software installed. I have verified that the graphics driver version is the same on both machines and that both installed Windows updates recently. We installed Creo 2.0 (M070) on one of them during build season (late January/early Feb) and the install went smoothly and everything ran fine (and continues to run well). Today I installed Creo 2.0 on the other one, and it wouldn't start up (gives a fatal error message). We had seen this before on other machines, so I created a config.pro file with the line "graphics win32_gdi". This allows it to start up as expected. Once it's running, I can set the graphics to opengl (using file->options->configuration editor), and it continues to run, and I can restore the last session and it will set the graphics to opengl and run OK, but I can't start it without the config.pro file that sets it to win32_gdi. The current version is M100.

I have three questions.

(1) Could this be a difference in the Creo builds? Can anyone suggest any other reason that the two systems would behave differently - other drivers, registry keys, etc?

(2) I see no difference in performance, but I only opened simple parts and assemblies. Is there a downside to using win32_gdi?

(3) Should I worry that Creo 3.0 won't run at all on these machines?

Thanks,

Can I run Mathcad or Creo on my Mac OS?

The anwser is Yes and No.  Currently PTC Academic software is supported only on Windows machines. However some users have found success running Creo on Mac systems in the following 2 scenarios.

  • Using virtual machine software such as Parallels to run Windows
  • Running Windows software in dual-boot mode on Mac systems with Intel-based hardware

PTC cannot make any recommendations on hardware or software for users attempting to run Creo in these environments.

Hello!

I am using the Creo 2.0 Student Version and have had to request a new license a few weeks ago. I did so on the website and with the new product code I was able to create a new license file. However, when starting up Creo 2.0, I am still getting an error concerning license failure.

Creo 2 error

Hello,

I have a problem, too, starting Creo 2.

I did the installation according to the guide I got via email. When I start the program I got an error but only says it created a traceback file and I should send it to the stuff. I don't know where to send it so I think this must be a good place to show my problem to you.
Inside the traceback.log this is written:

-------------------------------------------------

The trace creation timestamp is: Sze máj. 14 14:11:14 14

The executable build timestamp is: P febr. 28 17:21:55 14

The datecode is: 2014000

The pro machine type is: x86e_win64

The process ID is: 5736

The traceback type is : CRASH

Can't Uninstall - Error: One or more files currently in use.

Hi,

I'm running windows 7 32 bit and I have the Creo 2 Student versions of Direct, Layout, Parametric, Simulate, Platform and Portmapper I downloaded several days ago. I'm trying to Uninstall through the Control Panel each one of the listed items but I keep getting the popup message: "One or more files are currently in use".  I was able to uninstall the quality agent and one other item (I can't remember what it was).  I've rebooted after removing the two aforementioned items but still no luck.  I can't see anything running in processes that might be causing the problem.  Don't see anything under services either.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am an absolute beginner with CAD. I am trying to model a bolt and nut so that I can test it failing under various condidtions. I Have been following this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyMfcRl71do which is very useful, although I only have a student account. Just as I was about to get to putting the thredad on my bolt, the video at 14.53 tells me to open a file called unf_external_thread_profile. Which I dont have. Can anyone help me with this?

Also I have built the bolt so far need to convert it from inces to mm, is this possible.

Sorry to ask such basic questions, but like I say this is my very first time using CAD.

Cheers

Marcus

Thanks,

Is it possible to import Autodesk parts into Creo 2.0 Student Edition?

Hi,

I am currently a high school student looking to get into CAD. I have spent a lot of time with Inventor but I would like to move on to better software. I mainly do stuff with VEX parts for my robotics team but I'm having issues. Is it possible to import Autodesk parts into Parametric? Here is the link to the VEX parts I use http://www.autodesk.com/education/competitions-and-events/vex/recommended-software (the 2013/2014 version near the bottom), if that helps. I know with Creo 3.0 this is possible but I'm unsure about the Student 2.0 version.

Any comments you guys may have towards this would be much appreciated!

Thank you!
Jake

Student edition license renewal

Is it possible to update my 1 year student license?  Creo simply tries to open, then stops, citing an issue with my license which has just expired.  There is no option show for renewal.  If it is possible, how can I do this?
