Creo 2.0 and Intel HD 4600 graphics

I am a mentor for FRC Team 2877 - The Ligerbots, and one of my tasks is to build our Creo skill base over the summer to put us in a better position for  the next build season.

I have two nominally identical machines - Dell Optiplex 9020 with Intel graphics, running Windows 7 64 bit, purchased at the same time, identical hardware and nominally identical update history, similar software installed. I have verified that the graphics driver version is the same on both machines and that both installed Windows updates recently. We installed Creo 2.0 (M070) on one of them during build season (late January/early Feb) and the install went smoothly and everything ran fine (and continues to run well). Today I installed Creo 2.0 on the other one, and it wouldn't start up (gives a fatal error message). We had seen this before on other machines, so I created a config.pro file with the line "graphics win32_gdi". This allows it to start up as expected. Once it's running, I can set the graphics to opengl (using file->options->configuration editor), and it continues to run, and I can restore the last session and it will set the graphics to opengl and run OK, but I can't start it without the config.pro file that sets it to win32_gdi. The current version is M100.

I have three questions.

(1) Could this be a difference in the Creo builds? Can anyone suggest any other reason that the two systems would behave differently - other drivers, registry keys, etc?

(2) I see no difference in performance, but I only opened simple parts and assemblies. Is there a downside to using win32_gdi?

(3) Should I worry that Creo 3.0 won't run at all on these machines?

Thanks,

PTC Creo 3.0 and Direct Modeling Express?

We used PTC Creo 3.0 last year for FTC for robot design in our summer camp. In the fall the students used Solidworks to design parts for 3D printing. This summer camp we want to focus on 3D modeling for printing. Watched some older tutorials on PTC Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Express 6.0 and looks impressive. Separate download and free. Wanted to understand if their is an equivalent software tool in the download of PTC Creo and how does it compare to Direct Modeling Express 6.0

I'm a student using Creo 2.0, and have had this program for months without any issues and then all of a sudden I get an error upon oppening Creo:

"License request failed for feature"

I attatched a picture of the full error message.

I don't know if it's an expired license or what. I thought I read that the student licenses never expired? I'm not sure, but thanks in advance!

Mathcad PDSi viewable support error

Some customers are seeing the following message when installing Mathcad:

Mathcad PDSi viewable support: Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed. Setup will now terminate.

Mathcad is trying to install an Adobe driver but a more recent version of the driver is already on your computer.

You can ignore the message and continue with the installation. This has no impact on Mathcad.

Hi All,

Our licence pack appears to have expired for our Creo 2 schools software program.

The LMTools diagnostic report is as follows:

This license cannot be checked out because:

Feature has expired.

Feature:       CREOPMA_Academic2

Expire date:   09-may-2015

License path:  C:\Program Files\flexnet\licensing\license.dat;

FLEXnet Licensing error:-10,32

For further information, refer to the FLEXnet Licensing End User Guide,

available at www.macrovision.com.

How do we go about a new licence for our school server.

Many thanks

Paul

Creo 2.0 Parametric Fatal Error encountered

Hi there, I've been having a big problem trying to open creo on my laptop. I managed to install creo without a hassle, however when I try to open it, a window suddenly pops up that says:

CREO FATAL ERROR.JPG

Please help? i've tried re-installing Creo but this error still occurs.

My laptop Model: Inspiron 7520

Running on : Windows Home 7 Premium 64-bit (is it because of my operating system?)

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3612QM CPU @ 2.10GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.1GHz

Memory: 6144MB (6GB) RAM

If it's my operating system, do you think updating it to say Windows 8, will allow me to run Creo 2.0? Will updating it affect the fact that I have a locked license?

Any help would be much appreciated!
